“The Danube Delta in eastern Romania is a World Heritage Site delta that is largely undisturbed and home to thousands of species of flora and fauna. The soil here, which had been neglected for many years, was left to revitalize naturally and became suitable for viticulture. The two men, Filippo, who had originally worked as a winemaker in Italy, and Pieroni, a farmer living in Romania, took notice of this situation. Their meeting led to the establishment of LA SAPATA in 2009.

This wine, made from the local variety Feteasca Regala, is like a fruity pear juice. The floral aroma is soothing.”
