Italy is famous for having many local varieties, but this wine is made from international varieties. The common belief about why wines are made with international varieties is that “those with higher recognition sell better,” but apparently this wine is different.

Out of the 500 ha where grains and vegetables were mainly cultivated, they noticed that 30 ha with limestone and clay mixed in were well suited to international varieties, and converted the land to grape cultivation. Indeed, the character of Merlot—known for its smoothness and moderate presence—is well expressed in an open, distinctly Italian way.
