Among the wines that have so far been classified as Barbera d’Asti, a new category called ‘Nizza,’ permitted only for wines of outstanding quality, has been created and is attracting attention. Is it a matter of pride, as if to say, ‘Don’t lump us together with just any Barbera’?

When you taste it, you can certainly understand why: it has a more powerful flavor with greater depth than a typical Barbera. With aromas of ripe cherries and spice, and a refreshing acidity, it is finished as a lustrous red wine.
