When people think of Nebbiolo, they first think of Barolo, Barbaresco, and other wines from Piemonte, but it is also grown in Valle d'Aosta at the foot of the Alps, where it goes by the charming name of Picotendro. Over hundreds of years, it has adapted to the harsh climate and environmental conditions of the Alps, evolving to survive and thrive in this region.
The palate is very elegant, with red fruit nuances and less tannic than a typical Nebbiolo. The wine is complex and deep with oak nuances blended in.
